A group of professional and amateur genealogists who regularly meet to share research strategies, discuss local history, plan research projects, and assist others in their research.
The purpose of the Marathon County Historical Society is to collect, preserve and exhibit materials relating to the history of Marathon County. The museum library collects and catalogs printed materials and documents to aid the public in historical and genealogical research. Members of the museum staff initiate and carry out general research projects, site identifications and educational programs for presentation to schools and area groups.
The purpose of the LIFE in Marathon County Report is to acknowledge community strengths, identify community challenges, and serve as a catalyst for change by advancing community conversations and partnerships around the calls to action. It has been published every two years since 1997.
