Call MCPL’s Children’s Department for a Stack of Children’s Books

July 17, 2020

Are you or your child running out of fun and engaging titles to read during the COVID-19 pandemic? Call the MCPL Wausau children’s desk and we will hand-pick titles for you and your children!

Need new read-alouds before bed for your baby or preschooler? We would love to prepare a stack of our story time favorites and new books for you by request via curbside pick-up! Have a tween that loves fantasy, or the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, and they've run out of books? We have a bunch of new titles we can pull and have ready for your child! The great thing about the library is, books are free to check-out, so if your child doesn’t like it, you simply return it.

Part of our job in the children’s department is to be experts on children’s literature and to be well-versed in all that is offered. It is one of the best parts of the job as a children’s librarian, in my opinion, to recommend titles to young readers and parents. We are here to give reading advice and recommend great titles to you and your kids, so just call and tell us what your child enjoys and we will be more than happy to find books that suit their interests and reading level.

MCPL Wausau also has pre-made book bundles of picture books (and few preschool-age nonfiction bundles) ready for you to check out via curbside pickup. These bundles contain a stack of books centered around different themes including dinosaurs, things that go (trucks, trains, etc.), gardens, princesses, Paw Patrol, unicorns, construction, pets, MCPL’s favorite read-alouds, bedtime, jungle animals, ocean, space/rockets, bugs, Peppa Pig, and roadtrips/journeys. Have ideas for any other themes? We would love to hear them!

For more questions, requests or more information, call the MCPL Wausau children's desk at 715-261-7220.
