Spring is on the way, and you can add some brightness on a rainy day by making this simple (yet fun!) craft, no matter your age.
To get started, you'll first need to gather a few common supplies:
Umbrella Craft
Supplies needed:
- Construction paper, in various colors (one must be blue)
- Scissors
- 1 pipe cleaner
- Glue
- Yarn or string
Steps:
-
Cut out 10 circles in the colors of your choice.
-
Fold each circle in half, then fold in half once more, so it’s folded into fourths.
-
Once all of the circles have been folded, open each circle and glue the middle together, as shown in the example pictures. Do this with all of the folded circles.
-
Now, connect all the folded circles together by gluing them together. Once the sections are all glued together, open up the folds a little and take a look at your beautiful umbrella!
-
Add the finishing touches by gluing on a pipe cleaner to the bottom, bending it, and cutting it like the picture shown here.
-
If you want to go a step further, you can add raindrops to your umbrella! Cut out raindrops on blue construction paper, then glue yarn to the tops of the raindrops and glue the other end of the rain drop to your umbrella. Now you’re ready for spring!
