The 68th annual National Book Awards were held on November 15 in New York City. The National Book Foundation awarded the prestigious honor of a National Book Award to authors and poets in four different literary categories - Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry and Young People's Literature. The winner of the NBA for Fiction was Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward. In the book, siblings Jojo and Kayla are being raised by their grandparents, Mam and Pop, while their drug-addicted mother Leonie is in and out of their lives.
