Staff Review: "From Below" by Darcy Coates

What happened to the famous Arcadia, its passengers and its crew? How could such a grand ship vanish completely without a single trace?

60 years later, Cove and her diving crew are about to find out. When the wreck is finally discovered, Cove and her crew are excited to hopefully find out the cause of the mysterious shipwreck and its disappearance while also earning a pretty penny gathering footage for a documentary. But what starts out as a once-in-a-lifetime job turns into a literal battle for life. What's really been waiting for them so deep in the dark? What really brought the Arcadia to the deepest part of the ocean?

Not for the faint of heart, this deeply atmospheric novel pulled me under immediately. I felt like I was sinking into the thrilling and almost claustrophobic setting myself as I was reading; it was completely captivating and encompassing as a reader. This author also has this fascinating talent to end her novels in an uplifting and hopeful way, even though they are classified technically as horror novels typically. I absolutely loved this (along with everything else I've read by this author)!
