Staff Review: "I Work at a Public Library: A Collection of Crazy Stories from the Stacks"
This collection of short and absolutely hilarious anecdotes that will appeal to both library workers and library users. The stories range from cute encounters with children and confusion over e-books and computers to a few entries that moved this reviewer to tears. There is even an entire chapter dedicated to one eccentric library patron. As a library staff member, I definitely felt the author to be a kindred spirit, and because I had experienced many similar situations to those in the book, I found the book to be all the more heartwarming. I also loved that the entries were titled according to the standard format for entering the names of authors. My favorite entry was the last, which was titled "Guy, Doughtnut." This definitely added to the book's humor. Not only will this book make you laugh out loud, but it will show you what a truly fascinating and humorous place your local library can be.
