Staff Review: Rain Reign
The likable narrator of this book, fifth-grader Rose Howard, sees homonyms everywhere and obsessively collects them. Her mother is gone (she doesn't know exactly where) so she lives with her impatient father, is strict about her own (and everyone’s) rules, and has a diagnosis: high functioning autism or Aspergers. When her beloved adopted dog, Rain, disappears in a fierce storm she is determined to find him. Rose’s powerful story, written for tweens, will capture your heart and keep you reading and rooting for her.
