Wausau: Sourdough Starter Basics

Sat., June 7 @ 11:00 am12:00 pm

sourdough starter, flour, water, and bread

In case you missed it! Adults are invited to create their own sourdough starter. A sourdough starter is a living culture made using flour and water, creating a mixture used to leaven bread and give it that distinct sour flavor and light texture.

Come and learn the basics of creating and feeding your starter, and all the possibilities it can provide. You’ll walk away with a sourdough starter, a feeding schedule, and some recipes to try. No experience? No problem!

All supplies will be provided. Free and open to adults, and registration is required to ensure your spot and sourdough starter supplies by clicking the blue register button below. Please note that there is a limit of 1 starter per household. Registration will be capped at 40. Call the library at 715-261-7230 for more information.
