History Speaks: Shopping Around Wausau: From Department Stores to the Mall
Tune in for a virtual presentation by the Marathon County Historical Society that's all about shopping!
The Historical Society's Gary Gisselman will discuss the history of shopping in the Wausau area during the 20th century, including department stores and the construction of the Wausau Center Mall to many of the smaller, locally owned businesses. Tune in and you might recognize a store or two where you spent some of your hard-earned pay (or allowance!)
All History Speaks programs will be broadcast live simultaneously via Zoom, the Historical Society's Facebook page and its YouTube channel. If you can't join them live, you can watch archived recordings of all their History Speaks and History Chats anytime at the same places!
These programs, which are a collaborative effort between the Historical Society and the Marathon County Public Library, are free to watch and open to all ages, no registration required. Call the Historical Society at 715-842-5750 for more information.
