Beginning Foraging With Samuel Thayer
Take a walk along the Wisconsin River and learn about foraging wild edibles with author and forager Samuel Thayer right in the middle of the city!
Wausau native Samuel Thayer runs the Forager's Harvest Press and website, has written books about foraging and he's internationally recognized as an authority on wild edibles. He'll lead a group walk that starts at MCPL Wausau and meanders along the Wisconsin River, where Thayer will discuss the basics of foraging and point out some of the edible delights many of us walk past all the time and don't know exist!
This is a great opportunity to learn from a foraging expert and spend a little time outdoors! We'll have two free walks at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and to keep it manageable for both Samuel and the attendees we have a limit of 20 people for each session, so registration is required. Click the "Register" button on this page to sign up. It's likely to fill up fast! No rain dates are scheduled at this time.
