Central Wisconsin Book Festival
Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets Reading & Reception

Adults & Teens

Join us during the Central Wisconsin Book Festival to hear poets from around the state reading their own work!

Poets whose work has been included in the 2020 Wisconsin Poets Calendar will converge on MCPL Wausau to read their work - and the rest of us will have the pleasure of sitting back to listen! The focus of the calendar is "Going Places," so expect a variety of poems about the different journeys on which life can take us! The afternoon's featured guest will be Bruce Dethlefsen, author of several books of poetry who also served as poet laureate of Wisconsin in 2011-2012. A reception will follow the readings. Poets will bring copies of their books to purchase, and copies of the calendar will also be available to purchase.

Free and open to the public, no registration required. Call 715-261-7230 for more information.

This event is funded in part by the Green Bay Packers Foundation. Support for the 2019 Central Wisconsin Book Festival is provided in part through the Community Arts Grant Program of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, with funds provided by the Wisconsin Arts Board, a state agency, the Community Foundation, and the B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation. Support is also provided by the Dudley Foundation, the Marathon County Public Library Foundation, the Walter Alexander Foundation, the Friends of the Marathon County Public Library, Wisconsin Public Radio, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Wausau, Marathon County Historical Society, Center for the Visual Arts, the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, Janke Book Store and Wisconsin Public Service.
