Nonfiction Fans Book Club: "Running With Sherman"
Explore the wonderful world of non-fiction at this monthly book club at our Stratford Branch! In June, we'll read and discuss Running with Sherman by Christopher McDougall.
When Chris McDougall agreed to take in a donkey from an animal hoarder, he really had no idea what he was getting himself into. When he arrived, Sherman was in such bad shape he could barely move and his hair was coming out in clumps. Chris decided to undertake a radical rehabilitation program designed not only to heal Sherman's body, but to heal his mind as well. To do this, McDougall taught Sherman how to run, and the pair eventually went on to compete in the World Championship of burro racing.
From history and social issues to science and psychology, nonfiction illuminates any number of areas, making you more intelligent and well-rounded. And it's easy to do: Just read each month's book and show up! New attendees are always welcome.
