Theresa Kaminski joined us on Sept. 24, 2022 during the Central Wisconsin Book Festival to lead a workshop on researching and writing narrative nonfiction. Kaminski, who earned her PhD in history from the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializes in writing about scrappy women in American history and published her fifth book, a biography of the entertainer Dale Evans, in 2022. She taught at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for more than 25 years, offering classes on American history, American women's history, and historical research and writing.

A New York Times bestselling author and Wisconsin resident, Miller has spent a lifetime immersed in science fiction. His Star Trek novels include the upcoming hardcover novel Strange New Worlds — The High Country, the Picard novel Rogue Elements, Discovery novels Die Standing and The Enterprise War, the Prey trilogy, and Takedown. His Star Wars novels include A New Dawn, Kenobi, Knight Errant, Lost Tribe of the Sith, and the Knights of the Old Republic comics, newly available from Marvel in the colossal 1,344-page Legends: The Old Republic Omnibus. The Central Wisconsin Book Festival welcomes author Beth Amos to the McMillan Memorial Library in Wisconsin Rapids to discuss her 30-year writing career! Amos, currently writing as Annelise Ryan, is the USA Today bestselling author of more than 25 novels. Her newest project is the Monster Hunter Mysteries, featuring a Door County bookstore owner and cryptozoologist, Morgan Carter. The first in the series, A Death in Door County, will be published in September. Her previous work includes the Mattie Winston Mystery series and its spinoff, the Helping Hands Mysteries. She also wrote the Mack's Bar Mystery series as Allyson K. Abbott. Beth is a recently retired ER nurse who created pseudonyms, in part, so her patients wouldn't know she spent her spare time thinking up clever ways to kill people. She'll share a bit from her new book and talk about a life of writing that now spans 30 years!
