SUMMARY:Summer Library Program (SLP)
DESCRIPTION:Get ready to dig into a summer of discovery! In 2026\, libraries across the country will invite readers of all ages to “Unearth a Story\,” a theme inspired by the wonder of dinosaurs\, paleontology\, and archaeology. These fascinating subjects tap into a natural sense of curiosity and imagination\, encouraging kids and families to ask questions\, explore the past\, and uncover something new. It’s also an invitation to dive into great books\, discover hidden stories\, and explore the ideas and experiences that shape our world. \nOur summer programming has something for all ages\, but it is especially geared towards school-age children\, tweens and teens. \nVisit your library in June to pick up an activity book! Inside you’ll find a complete listing of our summer activities and performances. The activity book also includes puzzles\, a coloring page\, and our summer reading program. \n\n\n	\n \n	\n 75 events found.	\n	\n \n	\n\n \n	\n\n \n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n	\n	Events\n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n\n	\n\n\n	\n	Today\n\n	\n	\n \n \n 2026-06-01 \n \n Mon.\, June 1 \n \n - \n \n \n 2026-06-16 \n \n Tue.\, June 16 \n \n \n	\n\n	\n	\n Select date.	\n	\n	\n	\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n \n	\n\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n \n June 2026 \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Mon \n \n 1 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n \n \n	\n Summer Library Program (SLP)	\n\n \n \n Mon.\, June 1–Mon.\, August 31	\n	\n \n	\n All MCPL Locations	\n	\n Marathon County\, WI\, United States	\n	\n	 \n	+9 more\n\n \n\n \n	We are celebrating the “Unearth a Story” theme through our activity book\, summer performances\, craft activities\, book displays and more! SUMMARY:Mosinee: Book Club: "The Only Woman in the Room" by Marie Benedict
DESCRIPTION:Join our Mosinee staff and other book lovers for engaging discussions of a variety of books each month! This June\, the group will discuss “The Only Woman in the Room” by Marie Benedict. \nHedy Kiesler is lucky. Her beauty leads to a starring role in a controversial film and marriage to a powerful Austrian arms dealer\, allowing her to evade Nazi persecution despite her Jewish heritage. But Hedy is also intelligent. At lavish Vienna dinner parties\, she overhears the Third Reich’s plans. One night in 1937\, desperate to escape her controlling husband and the rise of the Nazis\, she disguises herself and flees her husband’s castle. She lands in Hollywood\, where she becomes Hedy Lamarr\, screen star. But Hedy is keeping a secret even more shocking than her Jewish heritage: she is a scientist. She has an idea that might help the country and that might ease her guilt for escaping alone—if anyone will listen to her. \nNo registration is required\, and new people are always welcome! For more information\, please contact us at 715-693-2144.

SUMMARY:Stratford: Book Club: "Heartwood" by Amity Gaige
DESCRIPTION:Join library staff and other book lovers for engaging discussions of books each month! This June\, we will discuss “Heartwood” by Amity Gaige. \nIn the heart of the Maine woods\, an experienced Appalachian Trail hiker goes missing. She is forty-two-year-old Valerie Gillis\, who has vanished 200 miles from her final destination. Alone in the wilderness\, Valerie pours her thoughts into fractured\, poetic letters to her mother as she battles the elements and struggles to keep hoping. At the heart of the investigation is Beverly\, the determined Maine State Game Warden tasked with finding Valerie\, who leads the search on the ground. Meanwhile\, Lena\, a seventy-six-year-old birdwatcher in a Connecticut retirement community\, becomes an unexpected armchair detective. Roving between these compelling narratives\, a puzzle emerges\, intensifying the frantic search\, as Valerie’s disappearance may not be accidental. The mystery inspires larger questions about the many ways in which we get lost\, and how we are found. \nNo registration is required\, and all are welcome! Stop by the library to pick up a copy of the book. Can’t make it? Join us to discuss the same book for our evening book club on June 23. For more information\, please contact us at 715-687-4420.
