Children up to age 11 may bring their favorite books from home or borrow some from the shelves to read aloud to a friendly\, furry companion. This is a great opportunity for kids to practice their literacy skills and have fun! \nThis event is free and no registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Young adults and adults are invited for an afternoon of zine making! A zine\, short for fanzine or magazine\, is a DIY self-publication\, usually made on paper using magazine clippings and art supplies\, and then reproduced with a photocopier or printer. Zines evolved from fan-based publications in the 1930s and became more prominent in the counter-culture movements of the 1970s and beyond. They have been a powerful tool for documenting marginalized voices and communities\, including the punk\, feminist\, and LGBTQ+ movements. A zine can be what you make it! \nAll supplies will be provided\, just bring your creativity! A few examples will be provided to get you thinking.
