DESCRIPTION:Kids are invited to get creative and explore child-led process art with a variety of projects! Process art is focused on the creation part of the process instead of following a specific set of directions. It allows for many different possibilities while children develop their creativity\, critical thinking and fine motor skills\, and even gain confidence in their artistic and crafting abilities! There will be a different project each month so that children have an opportunity to unleash their creativity in new ways while caregivers are able to meet with other community members. Examples of projects that may be offered include nature stamps\, dropper paintings\, paper sculpture\, bubble painting\, and more! \nThis free event is open to young children up to age 5\, along with their caregivers. DESCRIPTION:Young adults and adults are invited for an afternoon of zine making! A zine\, short for fanzine or magazine\, is a DIY self-publication\, usually made on paper using magazine clippings and art supplies\, and then reproduced with a photocopier or printer. Zines evolved from fan-based publications in the 1930s and became more prominent in the counter-culture movements of the 1970s and beyond. They have been a powerful tool for documenting marginalized voices and communities\, including the punk\, feminist\, and LGBTQ+ movements. A zine can be what you make it! \nAll supplies will be provided\, just bring your creativity! A few examples will be provided to get you thinking.
