DESCRIPTION:Join us this afternoon to build your own amazing amphoras out of cardboard and paper mâché. Amphoras are two-handled clay vessels with narrow necks and sturdy bodies used for storing goods like olive oil and grain. Some were decorated with depictions of events\, the gods\, or everyday life. All supplies will be provided\, just bring your artistry and be ready to put your own spin on an iconic part of ancient Greece. \nThis free event is open to teens\, with registration required to secure your spot and supplies. DESCRIPTION:Adults are invited to get creative and decorate their own clay trinket dish perfect for holding jewelry\, keys\, and other small items. Library staff will prepare the clay dishes ahead of time\, so they’ll be dry and ready to decorate! Using decorative cocktail napkins\, participants will learn a simple decoupage technique by applying the designs to their dishes with Mod Podge. To finish\, add a touch of metallic gold paint around the edges for a polished look. \nThis free program is open to adults\, with registration required\, as space and supplies are limited.
