DESCRIPTION:Join us this summer for field trips to the Mead Wildlife Area and experience unforgettable outdoor activities for all ages! Everyone is invited to join us on August 6 to learn about our favorite secret ingredient…sunshine! Participants will identify edible plants and use solar ovens to cook what has been foraged off the land. \nMeet at MCPL Wausau in the lower library parking lot on West Washington Street and hop on our bus for free transportation departing promptly at 12:15 pm. After our activities\, we’ll take the bus back to MCPL Wausau and arrive by 3:45 p.m. This free event is open to all ages\, but please note that minors MUST be accompanied by an adult on all field trips.  Registration is required for this event by registering online or by calling. Registration for each event opens one month prior\, so check back here to register if registering online. These events happen rain or shine! See below for important information regarding library parking. For more information about the event or to register\, call 715-261-7230. For Mead-specific questions\, call 715-457-6771. Join us at the library for our first Adult Dungeons & Dragons Battle Royale\, where it’s player versus player! Only official Wizards of the Coast (WotC) content allowed\, no partnered content. Be sure to follow Dungeons & Dragons 5.5 2024 rules and have a level 5 character prepared. You are allowed your class and background starting equipment\, one uncommon magic item\, and one uncommon potion. Prior to the event\, you’ll be asked to send a copy of your finalized character sheet for approval. The character with the most knock-outs and the character that does the most damage in one round of combat will each receive a prize. The grand prize will go to the last character standing! DESCRIPTION:Registration for the Teen D&D Summer Adventure is full and is now closed. Calling all adventurers! MCPL Wausau is hosting our 4th annual Teen D&D Summer Adventure and we’re recruiting you! Teens ages 13-18 are invited to join us weekly for exciting Dungeons & Dragons games run by our staff Dungeon Masters. Are you up for task? New adventurers are STRONGLY recommended to attend our D&D Character Building for Beginners event on Monday\, June 8 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.\, the day before our Summer Adventure begins. This summer\, we’ll meet every Tuesday from 1:30-4:00 p.m.\, starting June 9. SUMMARY:Wausau: DIY Trinket Dish
DESCRIPTION:Adults are invited to get creative and decorate their own clay trinket dish perfect for holding jewelry\, keys\, and other small items. Library staff will prepare the clay dishes ahead of time\, so they’ll be dry and ready to decorate! Using decorative cocktail napkins\, participants will learn a simple decoupage technique by applying the designs to their dishes with Mod Podge. To finish\, add a touch of metallic gold paint around the edges for a polished look. \nThis free program is open to adults\, with registration required\, as space and supplies are limited.
