Library staff can provide free one-on-one assistance for adults with basic computer and internet skills\, job searching and applications\, Microsoft Office (Word\, Excel\, etc.)\, social media (Facebook\, X\, etc.)\, E-books and library databases\, new computers or mobile devices…and more! \nRegistration is required by calling 715-261-7230. Appointments are available every other Monday from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and on opposite weeks\, every other Wednesday from 11:00-12:00 p.m. If the available times don’t work for you\, we’ll help you schedule another session! DESCRIPTION:MCPL Wausau is partnering with Extension Marathon County to offer a four-week series of beginner-friendly programs to help anyone interested in growing vegetables this spring. Take the mystery our of insect management with a practical introduction to Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM uses a combination of knowledge of pests and pest control methods to safely and economically manage pest damage. Join us on April 23 for an interactive class to learn the components of IPM framework and how to apply them in your garden. We will explore insect life cycles\, common damage types\, and how to distinguish beneficial insects from pests. You will also review when chemical options make sense and why it matters to read pesticide labels. By the end\, you will have strategies to manage insects thoughtfully and keep your garden ecosystem healthy. There will be two sessions offered: an afternoon session from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and an evening session from 5:30-7:00 p.m. We will meet in the Community Room. \nThis free event is open to adults\, with registration required below to secure your spot.
