SUMMARY:Wausau: Winter Reading Program: A Cozy Night In
DESCRIPTION:Adults are invited to join our Winter Reading Program\, running from December through February! Participants will pledge to read at least five books\, attend three MCPL events\, and complete various challenges over three months for a chance to win cozy\, reading-themed prizes. Starting December 1\, stop by the Reference Desk on the second floor at MCPL-Wausau to pick up your log sheet and get started. This sheet will help you track your progress throughout the program. To be eligible for a prize at the end\, participants must turn in their completed log sheet by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday\, March 7. Three grand prize winners will be selected and contacted on Friday\, March 13. \nAs a bonus\, two special events will be held at MCPL-Wausau in connection with the Winter Reading Program\, featuring prize drawings at the end of each event just for attending and participating! These events are: \n-Silent Book Club: A Cozy Night In \n-Tea Blending Workshop \nStarting December 1\, stop by the library for your log sheet\, grab some books\, and let the winter reading fun begin! DESCRIPTION:Join us for yoga at the library led by registered yoga teacher\, Jodie Schillinger. These sessions focus on gentle movements that flow into real life\, whether you’re looking for stress relief or simply a way to connect with your body and mind. All levels are welcome\, so feel free to move at your own pace. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing. You can bring your own mat\, but it’s not required. \nThis free event is open to adults and registration is not required. SUMMARY:Wausau: Read to a Therapy Dog
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we welcome Teddy\, a certified therapy dog and golden retriever\, to MCPL-Wausau! Not only can Teddy bring a smile to your face\, he’s also a willing and friendly listener! Children up to age 11 may bring their favorite books from home or borrow some from the shelves to read aloud to a friendly\, furry companion. This is a great opportunity for kids to practice their literacy skills and have fun! \nThis event is free and no registration is required. Meet us in the Aquarium Room on the fourth Saturday of each month from January to May*. Stop by anytime from 10:00-12:00 p.m. For more information\, please contact us at 715-261-7220. \n*Please note that May’s event will occur on May 16 instead of the fourth Saturday as the library is closed.
