DESCRIPTION:MCPL Wausau is partnering with Extension Marathon County to offer a four-week series of beginner-friendly programs to help anyone interested in growing vegetables this spring. Weeds and diseases can challenge even experienced gardeners\, but understanding their biology makes management easier. Join us on April 30 to learn how to recognize weed characteristics and invasive plants\, and apply cultural and mechanical control methods effectively. We will also cover the causes and conditions that lead to plant diseases\, how to differentiate signs from symptoms\, and the role of water in disease development. Finally\, we will compare herbicide types and timing for safe\, effective use. This program equips you with practical tools to protect your garden and maintain resilience throughout the season. There will be two sessions offered: an afternoon session from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and an evening session from 5:30-7:00 p.m. We will meet in the Community Room. \nThis free event is open to adults\, with registration required below to secure your spot. DESCRIPTION:MCPL Wausau is partnering with Extension Marathon County to offer a four-week series of beginner-friendly programs to help anyone interested in growing vegetables this spring. Weeds and diseases can challenge even experienced gardeners\, but understanding their biology makes management easier. Join us on April 30 to learn how to recognize weed characteristics and invasive plants\, and apply cultural and mechanical control methods effectively. We will also cover the causes and conditions that lead to plant diseases\, how to differentiate signs from symptoms\, and the role of water in disease development. Finally\, we will compare herbicide types and timing for safe\, effective use. This program equips you with practical tools to protect your garden and maintain resilience throughout the season. There will be two sessions offered: an afternoon session from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and an evening session from 5:30-7:00 p.m. We will meet in the Community Room. \nThis free event is open to adults\, with registration required below to secure your spot.
