Wausau: Cartoonist & Illustrator Duachaka Her

September 28 @ 10:00 am11:00 am

Duachaka Her

The Central Wisconsin Book Festival welcomes cartoonist and illustrator Duachaka Her to the Marathon County Public Library for a conversation about her work!

Duachaka (Dua), who also lives in central Wisconsin, is the author and illustrator of mini comics such as “Witchy’s Halloween” and the comic books “The Collection” and “Then and Now.” She’ll join us at MCPL Wausau to talk about her art, which often focuses on aspects of her Hmong-American identity and experiences, and the audience will be able to see examples during the conversation.

Dua currently has an exhibit of her work at the Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau, also called “Then and Now,” through October 19. A reception will be held from 5-7:30pm on Friday, September 27 at the CVA (also an official CWBF event!)

Free and open to the public, no registration required. Call the library at 715-261-7230 for more information.

Support for the 2024 Central Wisconsin Book Festival was provided through the Marathon County Public Library, Portage County Public Library and McMillan Memorial Library; the Community Arts Grant Program of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, with funds provided by the Wisconsin Arts Board, a state agency; the Community Foundation; and the B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation.
