Join us this summer at your local library! We are celebrating the “Unearth a Story” theme through our activity book, summer performances, craft activities, book displays and more! Our summer programming has something for all ages, but it is especially geared towards school-age children, tweens and teens.

Homebound Services

For Marathon County residents unable to visit the library due to age, illness, accident or disability, our Homebound program offers a way to receive library materials at home—for free—by mail or special delivery. Call 715-261-7248 to register.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

We’re challenging parents to read more books with their children! This program introduces children to a wide range of literature, encourages families to spend quality time together and promotes pre-literacy so children enter school ready to read, listen and learn.

100 Books Before Graduation

100 Books Before Graduation

Teens are invited to participate in our “100 Books Before Graduation” challenge! This challenge encourages students to read widely before adulthood. Rewards are earned at the 25, 50, 75 and 100 book milestones.

The library offers free room use for individuals and groups. Private study rooms are for educational nonprofit use. Public meeting rooms are available to community groups per library policy.

Get free notary services at MCPL Wausau! Available on a first-come, first-served basis—no appointments. Bring a photo ID and contact us to confirm availability before your visit.

Mobile Printing (Princh)

Mobile Printing (Princh)

Print while at the library or from home using your own computer, tablet or smartphone! Upload your files to the Princh website, or use the Princh app. Then, visit your local MCPL to pick up and pay for your prints.

Early Literacy Center (ELC)

The Early Literacy Center (ELC) at MCPL Wausau is an enclosed area of the children’s department specially designed for young children and their caregivers!

Lactation Pod (Mamava)

Lactation Pod (Mamava)

Breastfeeding, pumping or nursing parents seeking comfort and privacy may use the Mamava lactation pod at MCPL Wausau! Free to use, with outlets for pumping. Access via the Mamava app or a code from library staff.

Image / Document Scanners

Scanners are available at all MCPL locations to create digital files from physical media—photos, documents, etc. Scanning is free, but there is a fee if you choose to print your scans.

Fax Machines

Fax services are available at MCPL Wausau and MCPL Rothschild. Sending a fax is $2 for the first page and $1 for each additional page. Receiving a fax is $1 per page. Payment must be made by cash or check; credit or debit card payments are not accepted.

Make printed duplicates of documents, photos, books and archival materials using library photocopiers! Black and white photocopiers are available at all MCPL locations. A color photocopier is available at MCPL Wausau.

Microfilm Archives / Scanner

Microfilm Archives / Scanner

MCPL offers microfilm archives of local newspapers dating back to the 1800s. Use digital viewers at our Wausau or Mosinee locations, or request additional microfilm through Interlibrary Loan.

Tax Forms

A limited selection of free federal and state tax forms and publications are offered at all MCPL locations. Typically, they do not arrive until the end of January (at the earliest) and are kept through April. Other tax forms may be printed for 10¢ per page.
