“It had burnt down 40 years ago but still you could hear her unhinged laugh and shrieking cries. She shrieked something oddly eerie today: “Please, I beg you, don’t leave me liebling.”
The Winner in the Age 12-17 category with 127 votes is…Emma Downing:
“There was a picture in my phone of me sleeping. But I live alone, all of a sudden I violently start SCREAMING.”
The Winner in the Adult category with 29 votes is…Ashley Downing:
“The librarian neatly files her victims’ final pleading words into tiny drawers that line the walls of her soul. She’s tried to incinerate them, but the paper is indestructible and their relentless cries of torture pierce her eardrums.”
