Did you know that food scraps and yard waste make up 20-30% of what we throw away? Composting is a great way to reduce waste by recycling naturally, benefitting soil health! Composting is the process of taking organic materials such as yard clippings, food scraps, etc., and breaking them down into nutrient-rich compost that can be used to improve soil and plant health.
Adults are invited to a presentation led by Janell Wehr, horticulture educator with Extension Marathon County, to learn more about soil texture, pH levels, how to get started with composting, and the basics of fertilizing.
