Join the Marathon County Historical Society and local cemetery historian Kathy Volkmann for the next talk in MCHS’s History Speaks series!
Volkmann will share the history of one of the first community mausoleums in Wisconsin, the Pine Grove Mausoleum in Wausau. Who decided to bring this unusual concept to Wausau and how did they make it happen? What does it look like inside? In addition to being a local cemetery historian, Kathy Volkmann manages part of the Marathon County Historical Society‘s vast collections as our Curator of Artifacts, as well as a regular contributor in designing our exhibits.
This free program is presented live at the Woodson History Center, no registration required. The History Speaks lecture series is presented in conjunction with the Marathon County Public Library and is sponsored by Janke Book Store. Please call 715-842-5750 for more information.
