Wisconsin Rapids: “Typewriter’s Block” With Robert Walker

September 28 @ 1:00 pm2:00 pm

Robert Walker

The McMillan Memorial Library in Wisconsin Rapids welcomes author Robert Walker to discuss his debut novel during the 2024 Central Wisconsin Book Festival!

Walker’s novel, “Typewriter’s Block,” follows struggling writer and typewriter enthusiast Kyle Lindsay. He hopes the typewriter of his dreams, a 1967 Hermes 3000, will inspire him to greatness. The typewriter he acquires, however, has other plans. It is possessed by “JK,” a spirit whose goal is to rid the world of mediocre writers, and it is determined to make Kyle abandon his career and dream. Will Kyle prevail, or will JK destroy another would-be writer?

Walker, a retired journalist and communications specialist, lives in central Wisconsin with his wife and has his own collection of more than 20 typewriters! He’ll discuss the book and take questions from the audience, and copies of the novel will also be available.

Free and open to the public, no registration required. Call the McMillan Memorial Library at 715-422-5136 for more information.
