Book Club: "The Radium Girls" by Kate Moore
Adults Join us for the monthly book club at our Rothschild Branch! In April, we'll read and discuss Kate Moore's The Radium Girls!
During World War I, hundreds of young women toiled away at the radium-dial factories, where they painted clock faces with a mysterious new substance called radium. They were assured by their bosses that the luminous material was safe until they began to fall mysteriously ill. As the fatal poison took hold, they found themselves embroiled in one of America's biggest scandals and a groundbreaking battle for workers' rights.
We're always looking for new attendees, so feel free to read the book and join us! Free and open to all adults, no registration required. Call 715-359-6208 for more information.
