Polio: Scourge of the 1950s

Adults Rick Lohr, a retired history teacher and world traveler, will tell the personal story of his sister's illness, and will trace the history of polio in Marathon County and vaccines against the disease. His talk will include stories from an immunization trip he took to India in 2004.

This presentation is one in the regular History Speaks series offered through the Marathon County Historical Society. Admission is free and no registration is required. For more information, call 715-659-3996.
