100 Books Before Graduation

Please note: This program is being redesigned in 2025! Information on how to participate will be released after our summer program.

Teens are invited to participate in our “100 Books Before Graduation” challenge! This challenge encourages high school students to read widely before college. Rewards are earned at the 20, 50, 70 and 100 book milestones and include book bags, books and a gift card upon completion.

Any book can count toward the total goal of 100 books! It can be fiction or nonfiction, purchased or borrowed, published recently or 200 years ago, a book read for fun, a comic book, a cook book, or even a novel read for school. If you’re looking for ideas, visit the library or use the online catalog to browse for books. Another great resource is TeachingBooks for Libraries, which is free to all residents of Wisconsin. Search for a book you enjoyed and find similar books or browse award-winning books.

View our curated 100 Books Before Graduation list; it is compiled from college recommended reading lists and popular contemporary literature.
